Lindsay Lohan is coming home to some sad news in the States.

The troubled 26-year-old star's beloved Maltese dog, Gucci, has died, a source close to Lindsay confirms to E! News. The source says the family pooch was 19 years old, and the adorable pet, who passed away in Long Island, was LiLo's first pup.

The actress' mother, Dina, took to Twitter today to share the news and express her sadness.

"Sad Day Gucci our family Dog passed away ! She...brought so much love to us ......she will forever be missed xo," the mother of four wrote before adding, "Thank you for your kind words."

The rehab-bound star was snapped heading back to the States today after a successful promotional tour in Brazil. Lohan will soon be required to serve her 90-day court-mandated stint in a locked down rehab facility as part of her plea deal stemming from her summer PCH car crash.

Wishing Linds and her family all the best.
