Amanda Bynes a No-Show in Suspended License Hearing, Judge Allows One More Continuance

Amanda Bynes has more pressing things to worry about than who she plans to ignore on Twitter.

Sure, the actress' loopy tweets may have hogged headlines recently, but lest anyone forget, Bynes is still very much in legal hot water over a string of driving mishaps last year. She faces charges in two separate cases: one for hit and run and another for driving with a suspended license.

Now, a judge is putting the brakes on any delays to the latter case: On Tuesday, Bynes' attorney was advised that his client will only be granted one more continuance in her misdemeanor driving on a suspended license case.

Bynes was a no-show at the Burbank courthouse as her legal eagle, Richard Hutton, appeared on her behalf.

Judge Margaret Oldendorf granted the continuance in advance of a pretrial and stressed to Hutton that he needed to wrap up the case, which has been dragging on since October, when Bynes was slapped with two misdemeanor counts of driving with a suspended license. She pleaded not guilty to those charges.

The star's license was initially pulled following a string of unpaid tickets, and she was cited twice in September for driving without a license, her second police run-in resulting in her car being impounded.

Bynes' pretrial date has been set for May 2.
