David Beckham may be a world-famous soccer stud, but at the end of the day he's just your average (celebrity) dad.

Which means that, like any father, he has to deal with his four children growing up and getting older, except his kids Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 10, Cruz, 7 and baby Harper will be doing it under a media microscope.

"My eldest now is at the age where he wants to do things and go to places, and we have to hold him back," Victoria Beckham's other half said in an interview with CNN World Sport

He added, "You have to explain to him that there are certain things that he can't do. But to be honest, we let our children do 99 percent of the things they want to do, because we want them to lead a normal life."

And while normal may be a bit hard for the Beckham clan, we think it's admirable David and Victoria want to teach their children to be independent.

But doting daddy Becks also admits he struggles with being away from his family while he is busy working and playing soccer for Paris St. Germain.

"That's the sacrifice I have to make as a father and as a husband: being away from my family," the H&M hottie confessed. "It is only for a short time, but it's difficult being away from the children every single day. But they understand it. They understand that Daddy works hard."

Aw, what a good father! We just love the soccer stud.
