MTV has decided to suspend production on Buckwild's second season following the death of star Shain Gaindee, E! News has confirmed.

The network issued a statement to E! News mourning the loss of its star and expressing sympathy to his family.

"We are shocked and saddened by the terrible news about Shain Gandee, and those involved in this tragic incident," said an MTV spokesperson. "We are waiting for more information but at this time, our main concern is for the Gandee family and their friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Shain had a magnetic personality, with a passion for life that touched everyone he met and we will miss him dearly."

The reality series' 21-year-old star was found dead in a vehicle in Sissonville, W. Va. Monday morning. Gaindee's uncle David Gandee and Donald Robert Myers, a friend of the family, were also found dead.

Gaindee's Buckwild costars expressed their grief on Twitter.

"Everything doesn't happen for a reason," Buckwild's Katie Saria tweeted. "I don't know why people say that."  Shae Bradley also took to Twitter, writing, "Breathe in. Breathe out. Repeat. Just going through the motions. Please pray for Shains close friends and family," while Anna Davis tweeted, "My heart is broken."
