We're positively buzzing about maternity style these days thanks to several leading ladies including Jessica Simpson, Kate Middleton and Kim Kardashian all expecting little bundles of joy in the coming months. 

And while each glowing star has adapted to her growing shape in a unique way, Simpson has officially kicked off her heels and stepped into flats, tweeting a picture of her more practical footwear over the weekend. "Practicing walking in flats around my house," Maxwell's mom wrote on Friday.

We are a bit surprised Eric Johnson's ladylove has to practice wearing flats, we have to hand it to the stylish singer for her consistent commitment to wearing heels, platforms, wedges and more over the years for any occasion.

We're betting that wildly successful footwear empire of hers has something to do with it!

But those days are over, at least for the time being, as the fashionista modeled a simple pair of studded flip-flops, which complemented the metallic nail polish painted on her toes quite nicely.
