B.J. Novak is trading in his Dunder-Mifflin gig for a position at Oscorp.

The Office star has officially come aboard The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in as yet-unknown role opposite stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.

Though by the looks of this photo that director Marc Webb posted on Twitter Thursday announcing the casting news, there might be something a little nefarious about his character, which the helmer hinted works for Oscorp.

That company, as every Spidey fan can tell you, is owned by Norman Osborn, better known as the Green Goblin.

"Day 38. A supposed rumor about a Dunder-Mifflin takeover of Oscorp?" Webb wrote along with the twitpic, which Novak subsequently retweeted.

In the last few years of his seven-season run as Ryan "The Temp" Howard on The Office, the 33-year-old comic actor has been making the transition to the big screen, appearing in such films as Reign Over Me, Knocked Up and most notably Inglourious Basterds.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which is now filming, finds our friendly neighborhood webslinger once again reigniting his relationship with Gwen Stacy (Stone) despite promising her policeman dad he'd stay away while encountering a new foe, Electro (Jamie Foxx).

The highly anticipated sequel swings into theaters on May 2, 2014.
