Usher Calls Himself the "Black Larry David": "I Curb People's Enthusiasm"

Usher has a confession to make: He's got a pretty dry sense of humor.

Now that his latest gig has taken him to the big red chair as a coach on NBC's The Voice, the R&B superstar decided to use his Monday appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to give TV viewers a taste of his comedic wit.

"I want to just prepare you because you guys are gonna now get used to a different person," Usher told host Jimmy Fallon. "My humor doesn't always connect."

At which point, the 34-year-old singer likened himself to a certain star of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm.

The Voice season premiere 4: How did Usher and Shakira do on their coaching debuts?

"I'm the new Larry David. I'm like black Larry David," he declared. "I'm kind of misunderstood. I curb your enthusiasm."

Uh, if you say so, Usher.

When asked by the funnyman if he can hold his own against Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Shakira, the "Yeah!" hitmaker called his  fellow coaches "funny people" and admitted that his "humor's just a little slower so it may go over people's heads."

Well, we can't wait to hear what Voice contestants have to say about his feedback.
