2013 Peabody Winners Announced: Girls, Game Change, Doctor Who Nab Plum Honors

Girls' gal is enjoying quite the winning streak.

Multihyphenate super-threat Lena Dunham—who's already won two Golden Globes and a Directors Guild Award, and shared a win at the Writers Guild Awards—is adding yet another accolade to her burgeoning haul:  a Peabody.

The 26-year-old's hit HBO show is among this year's recipients of the prestigious media award, organizers announced Wednesday.

She's in pretty estimable company: Other honorees include Louis C.K.'s Louie, Julianne Moore's spot-on Sarah Palin indictment Game Change and TNT's gritty police drama Southland.

Robin Roberts also scored some well-deserved kudos: "Robin's Journey," a public-service campaign that began as a special 20/20 episode chronicling the Good Morning America anchor's battle with myelodysplastic syndrome and her subsequent bone-marrow transplant, also made the cut.

And lest you think that the Peabodys turn a blind eye to the nerd herd, fanboys will be happy to learn that British sci-fi cult fave Doctor Who will be honored with an Institutional Peabody.

The 39 awards will be handed out on May 20 at a luncheon at New York City's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel hosted by CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley.
