Yep, this one definitely prompted a double-take.

Madame Tussauds is famous for creating extremely authentic wax statues, but their latest one of Britney Spears, which was unveiled in New York today, really is amazing.

The new figure featured a curly blond Brit-Brit in a sparkly silver dress with a plunging neckline, a take on her look at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.

That year, when she performed "Piece of Me" and won three awards, marked the true beginning of her comeback after a couple years of, um, lesser career moments.

This is the second wax Britney figure made by Madame Tussauds, with the first being a 2003 creation that showed Britney upside down mid pole-dance, wearing a green outfit similar to the one she wore during her famous, snake-handling performance of "I'm A Slave 4 U" at the 2001 VMAs.
