Meryl Streep is keeping it cool.

The three-time Oscar winner has lent her estimable star power to To the Arctic, which chronicles the travails of a polar bear and her two cubs as they attempt to survive precarious changes to their environment brought about by global warming.

Streep narrates the documentary, which hit theaters last April and is being released on home video today, and in it, the filmmakers were able to track the trio of bears for seven consecutive days as they sought out a safer habitat while evading other menacing polar bears in the process.

Front and center is the "protective relationship that the mothers have with their little ones," the 63-year-old actress says in this exclusive clip.
