Stephen Colbert's sister is one step closer to having her own Better Know a District segment on The Colbert Report.

Elizabeth Colbert Busch won her democratic primary race in South Carolina in a landslide on Tuesday and will be the party's nominee for the vacant 1st Congressional District seat when the general election is officially held on May 7.

Looks like she got the Colbert bump all right, though as of press time, it's not clear yet who she's going up against.

Stephen Colbert talks about supporting his sister's run for congress

After stepping down from his office in disgrace a few years back after hiking the Appalachian trail admitting to an extramarital affair, former South Carolina governor Mark Sanford is making a comeback as he logged enough votes to lead 16 rival candidates for the Republican nomination.

However, should he fail to garner 50 percent of the ballots, an April 2 runoff may be necessary to determine the final nominee, which would certainly look to give Colbert Busch an advantage.

Whomever she faces, Elizabeth will have the support of her more famous brother, who told CNN's Jake Tapper on Monday that he—and not his faux pundit character on Comedy Central's Peabody-winning show—is going to do everything in his power to help her win, even if the funnyman catches flak for doing so.

"I'm willing to, you know, break the jewel of my own creation to try to do something for her," Colbert said.
