A Joyful Noise this was not. More like a big racket.

Beth Ditto, lead singer of the indie rock band The Gossip, was arrested early Saturday morning in Portland, Ore., after she allegedly got extremely drunk, walked out in the middle of the street, blocked traffic and began yelling.

According to Portland Police Department spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson, cops were called to the scene and found the 32-year-old Ditto, real name Mary Beth Patterson, "standing in the middle of the street with her arms extended from her sides like an airplane."

A source told the Willamette Week that a bartender at the Bungalo Bar cut the crooner off because she was too inebriated and once she got outside she threw off her shoes and purse and screamed "Obama! Obama!"

After Ditto ignored officers' commands to move out of the way of four stopped cars, the wannabe Obama girl was taken into custody without incident and booked into the nearby Multnomah County Jail on one count of disorderly conduct. She was released a short time later.

A rep for Ditto, who's a prominent LGBT activist, was unavailable for comment. No word what the president has to say about it either.
