How's this for a welcome?

As Lindsay Lohan arrived at a Los Angeles courthouse for the first day of her trial over charges she violated her probation in connection with a car crash last June, the troubled actress had glitter thrown at her.

Fortunately, a security guard managed to step in just in time and prevented Lohan from getting hit by the sparkly stuff. The guard, however, was not so lucky.

Meanwhile, Lohan's lawyer, Mark Heller, showed up clutching his briefcase with a rabbit-foot key chain attached to it. Of course, this isn't the first time he's been spotted with the good luck charm, having brought it to one of his client's earlier probation violation hearings.

Whether he'll need it or not remains to be seen.

If found guilty of the probation violation, Lohan is facing 240 days in jail. The 26-year-old would face more time if she is convicted of the other misdemeanors for lying to police and reckless driving. The Santa Monica City Attorney has shown no inclination of settling. They will likely go on the record with their official offer shortly.
