"Omaha, Nebraska. Welcome to the very first night of the Red Tour."

With those words, Taylor Swift kicked off her highly anticipated series of concerts on Wednesday night that will find the Grammy winner performing 58 dates across North America.

And if the clip above is any indication, her fans couldn't be more excited.

For Swift, such enthusiasm is obviously infectious.

"What I'm looking most forward to about the tour and the shows is, when you get out there and you're seeing real people and real life and you're seeing that thousands of people are singing along to the words of the songs that you wrote," the 23-year-old songstress says. "It's the most rewarding feeling and it reminds you why you wanted to do this as a little kid."

And for folks coming to see her perform, Swift adds, "Expect the unexpected. I think I really like the element of surprise and I love incorporating that into the shows."

Swift takes the stage in Omaha again on Thursday and the Red Tour will keep her on the road for the next six months. Fortunately, she'll have some company, as Ed Sheeran, her duet partner on "Everything Has Changed," is along for the ride.

Not to mention several thousand screaming fans.
