Olivia Wilde Drank a Lot While Making SXSW Movie: "I Have a Hollow Leg!"

Drinking Buddies costars dish on throwing back beers during filming of their flick

Olivia Wilde was drinking on the job—and no one cared.

No, the gorgeous gal doesn't need an intervention. In Drinking Buddies, she and Jake Johnson play coworkers at a brewery.

"She can throw them back," Johnson laughed when we caught up with the cast at their SXSW movie premiere.

"I don't know if that's a compliment," Wilde butted in before adding, "I have a hollow leg, as my dad would say!"

Anna Kendrick also did some boozin'.

"I did some accidental on-set drinking actually," Kendrick dished. "They've been handing me fake beers for the past couple of scenes and then I did a scene with Jake Johnson where we played a little card game, drinking game and I didn't realize that they had handed me real beer.

"So I kept losing this game," she continued. "I had essentially shot-gunned two beers in a row and I'm very small. Did I look up and go ‘Wait, um, is this real beer? Yeah, I'm drunk at work.' I guess it really wasn't my fault.'"

As for Johnson? The New Girl star says getting to drink on set was a big selling point when director Joe Swanberg approached him about the film.

"There was a lot of beer drinking," Johnson laughed. "That was part of the pitch. I said, 'I don't know how much work I want to do this summer.' [Joe] goes, 'Your character works in a beer brewery and I'll get you the best beer in Chicago whenever you want it.' And I'm like, 'I'm very interested in your movie, Joe.'"
