No more Britney Spears and no more L.A. Reid on The X Factor, but we might have a Demi!

Simon Cowell called in to Ryan Seacrest's radio show today to talk about the new season of The X Factor, and when the former American Idol host asked about Demi Lovato returning for season two, Cowell basically confirmed it.

"That would be a good guess," he said. "Nothing is official, but I liked having Demi on the show. She's fun to work with. I think we'd be crazy not to have her back."

Lovato is enjoying yet another hit single with "Heart Attack," and Cowell wasted no time swooping in to take credit.

"I'd like to think in our own little way we helped her career as well," he said matter-of-factly.

Seacrest also took this opportunity to address some other X Factor judging rumors, including Michael Bolton (which just made Cowell laugh), and…Pope Benedict?

"I can't confirm or deny that," Cowell joked. Well, the Pope certainly has some free time now!
