Lena Dunham is weighing in on the spat of race-related incidents that has landed her alma mater in the headlines.

The Girls star, a graduate of Ohio's Oberlin College, took to Twitter to lament the hateful vandalism that's plagued the campus including messages targeting African-Americans, Jews and gays.

"This really saddens me. The school I remember was the safest place to do you," tweeted Dunham with a link to a New York Times article about it.

The actress also offered up some good advice, which she hoped her fellow "Obies" will take to heart.

"Hey Obies, remember the beautiful, inclusive and downright revolutionary history of the place you call home," she added. "Protect each other."

No doubt words to live by. Of course, anyone watching HBO's hit series which Dunham created knows that several of the characters including her alter ego Hannah and Allison Williams' character Marnie went to the school before moving to Greenpoint, Brooklyn, where Girls is set.
