Taylor Swift may not always want to divulge the ins and outs of her love life (except in song)—but she recently trusted a close friend to do so on her behalf.
The Red artist snagged the cover of Vanity Fair's April issue, and during a "girls-night-in at Swift's Nashville apartment" with writer Nancy Jo Sales, the 23-year-old made it clear that she was very apprehensive about discussing her personal life—and actually let a pal do all the talking when it came to ex Harry Styles.
"She leaves her personal life to her music, she says she won't talk about anything personally," Sales exclusively tells E! News, "but you know I really kind of told her like, ‘Look, you know, let's talk.' And she really didn't wanna do it, but she finally relented and said, ‘Hey, I'll let you talk to this friend of mine if she'll say anything.' Which she did."

And, according to Sales, Swift's friend wanted to make one thing specifically clear.
"Why I think her friend was so intent on setting the record straight was that she felt that Taylor has been misrepresented in the media, because the media has been skewing everything so towards the guys' version of the stories, not the girl's version of the story."
So what has the media gotten wrong? Why did her relationship with the One Direction singer fail? Watch the clip to find out!
