Petra Nemcova is ready to deliver the fine print about wearing bright, bold prints.

E! News recently caught up with the Czech beauty at New York Fashion Week, where we quizzed her about her tips and tricks on how to work the season's most vibrant patterns.

Of course, wrangling a bold print requires clever finesse—a delicate balance between restraint and flair that allows the pattern to take center stage without overwhelming its wearer.

The 33-year-old supermodel seems to have gotten the memo, chatting us up while wearing a va-va-voom Hervé Léger bandage dress decked out with swaths of vivid patterns. Here's how she pulls it all off:

1. Keep It Simple: "If you do bold prints, then the rest should be very simplified," she explains. That means making sure the outfit's visual imprint is the primary element that anchors the look. "Just focus on the bold print," she adds. "The rest should be completely simplified, meaning by color, by style or both."

2. Own It: Attitude goes a long way toward making sure that it is the woman who wears the dress, and not vice versa. "You have to own it," Petra says. "If you wear it, you have to own it."

3. Don't Go Overboard: Restraint is key to reining in a look splashed with a bold pattern so that it doesn't hinge on overkill. "Don't overdo it," she confides. "Don't try to go too much on it."
