Will Emma Watson's next movie project have a fairy-tale ending?

The Harry Potter star might wanna get ready to rock a killer ball gown because Watson is reportedly in talks to headline a big-screen update of Cinderella.

Per Variety, the 22-year-old actress is circling the Disney film, which will be directed by Kenneth Branagh.

And how's this for an inspired bit of casting: Cate Blanchett has signed on to play the evil stepmother.

Fairy-tale redos have been big business for studios these days: Last year, Kristen Stewart scored a hit with Snow White and the Huntsman, which raked in $396 million worldwide and has spurred serious talk of a sequel.

Cinderella isn't the only Fairy Tale 2.0 on Disney's slate: Angelina Jolie is set to star as the titular villain in the Sleeping Beauty–inspired Maleficent, which hits theaters next year.

Watson, meanwhile, is ramping up for the June release of Bling Ring, Sofia Coppola's take on the notorious cabal of teenagers who burglarized the homes of stars like Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.

No fairy-tale ending there, that's for sure.
