If Ricky Gervais can bring back David Brent, then maybe one day Steve Carell can bring back Michael Scott. We can only hope. Regardless, this is TV news that makes us spin happily in our chairs.

The Office creator Ricky Gervais has brought back David Brent from the TV character afterlife, but only for a quick one-off episode called The Office Revisited. (For those of you living under rocks, David Brent, from the original British version of The Office, is the character Michael Scott is based on.)

"It has been 10 years since we last saw David Brent," Gervais says in a statement. "I thought it was time to revisit my most famous comedy creation to find out what he's been up to for the last decade, and most importantly, what he's up to now."

What he's up to now is trying to make it in the music business.

"He is passing on his wisdom to younger would-be rock stars now and is living vicariously through a young performer, Dom Johnson," Gervais explains. "Well, really he is trying to worm his way back into rock 'n' roll. Fans of The Office will be excited to know we finally get to hear the whole of 'The Serpent Who Guards the Gates of Hell' and an amazing Brent self-funded video, 'Equality Street.' Horrendous."

The Office Revisited with air on BBC One on Friday, March 15. You can also watch the episode on Gervais YouTube channel, which is the same place where you can watch the full trailer for Brent's return. For a quick sneak peek, watch the teaser below!
