Terrence Jenkins can now add author to his résumé.

The actor and E! News coanchor has just announced his brand new book deal with HarperCollins' It Books, and we've got all the details! Starting with the fact that his first offering, The Wealth of My Mother's Wisdom, is due to be published in September.

"During the process of playing the mama's boy in Think Like a Man, I took an in-depth look at my own mother and her extraordinary journey of raising me while still a teenager herself," Jenkins says. "I know that many of the successful moments in my life, personally and professionally, have been in part because of the lessons that she taught me, and I am proud to share her words of wisdom to inspire others."

"Because  of the decisions she made and her wisdom, I was able to not only stay off the streets and stay out of jail, but I was able to go on to college and be successful in my career," he said today on E! News.

The 30-year-old has compiled, as the title promises, a wealth of anecdotes, lessons and advice from his beloved mom.

Jenkins "shared with me stories of his childhood, and also his deep admiration for his mother," says It Books executive editor Carrie Thornton. "I knew we had found the kernel of a wonderful book from him."

And it looks like mom taught her son well: The New York–born, North Carolina–bred Jenkins is a spokesman for the Ronald McDonald House Charities' Future Achievers scholarship campaign, a mentor with Steve Harvey's Disney Dreamers Academy and a supporter of New Jersey's Boys and Girls Clubs of Newark.

Asked by Catt Sadler if his mom had read the book yet, he said the first copy would definitely be going to her. "It's an ode to all mothers out there," he added, "and hopefully it will inspire anyone that's going through something."
