Watch: Will Nicki Minaj Return to "Idol?"

Nicki Minaj may have once said she'd perform with Mariah Carey on American Idol, but now the "Starships" singer is changing her tune.

"Unless, it looks like this," Minaj cracked while pretending to choke someone. "I don't know. God bless her though…I mean, that'll never happen."

I caught up with Ms. Minaj at the M.A.C Cosmetics store in West Hollywood, where she was promoting the release of Nicki 2, her new Viva Glam lipstick benefiting the M.A.C AIDS Fund.

Minaj admits she's not sure about returning to Idol for a second season. "I don't know, we'll see," she said. "See the thing is, we're only half way done so, I am absolutely enjoying Idol but I don't know how I'm going to feel at the end of it."

What she definitely feels strong about is the M.A.C AIDS Fund and helping people with HIV/AIDS.

"I don't know if everyone knows, but I've lost people in my family to AIDS…[and now] you don't have to die of AIDS," Minaj said. "We need people to realize that this is not a game. You can really lose your life sharing needles, unprotected sex, all of that stuff."

All of the sales proceeds of the new lavender lipstick and gloss go directly to the M.A.C AIDS Fund. "Lavender is the new pink," Minaj smiled. "I'll never stop wearing pink but I wanted to venture out."

Since we were talking makeup, I had to ask Minaj if she's ever had a makeup disaster. She recalled a concert in London when she wanted her eyes to pop more.

Minaj accidently poured glue and glitter in both her eyes. "I looked like a psychopath when I got on that stage," she said, laughing. "It just ruined my confidence for the show. I didn't want to see any pictures from the night...It literally tramautized me."
