Imagine if Adele and Barbra Streisand sang together!

Perhaps it will happen one day now that the two singers have become fast friends.

The "Skyfall" singer was among the select few who Babs asked to sit with her at the Oscars' official post-party, aka the Governors Ball.

"I was more nervous last week when I met her for the first time," Adele told me when I asked what it's like sitting next to Streisand and enjoying Wolfgang Puck's menu together. "Even though she is who she is, it's so amazing because she's so normal."

As Adele sat with her new Oscar in hand, it was Streisand's performance of "The Way We Were" that she was kvelling over. "I was dying," she said. "I was crying." (PS: Sources report that Streisand is thinking about touring again this year!)

Adele also told me she'll probably create a special place in her home for her many "Skyfall" honors.

Also at Streisand's table? Her hubby James Brolin, Dame Shirley Bassey, John Travolta, Kelly Preston and Donna Karan.

Travolta gushed over the Oscars' musical theme. "I thought it was awesome," he said. "It reminded me of the old days of the Academy Awards."

And, yup, Travolta would love to do another musical—he just doesn't know which one. "Who ever thought I'd one day do Hairspray?" he said about his cross-dressing role as Edna Turnblad in director Adam Shankman's movie adaptation of the Broadway show. "You never know when or how things will happen, but I would love to. It would be great."
