Spoiler alert! Our TV Watercooler catches you up on the biggest and best happenings from tonight's shows—some of which you might not yet have seen. So look away if you don't want to know. And get ready to geek out along with us!

Pretty Little Liars: Rest in peace, Toby (Keegan Allen). Yes, the ABC Family hit series went there with the fan-favorite character, offing him after revealing a few episodes back that he is part of the "A" Team. What's that sound? It's the sound of millions of teenage girls losing their collective shiz over his death. But wait! Did we actually see the dead body's face? Hmmm...something smells fishy here, so we're holding out hope that PLL is trying to pull a fast one on us. Oh, and Spencer (Troian Bellsario) found herself locked up in the sanitarium by episode's end. Cuckoo bananas!

Smash: That sneaky little weasel Ellis (Jaime Cepero), even when he's not physically around he's still stirring up trouble. Turns out, Ellis was Jerry's (Michael Cristofer) supplier of damning Bombshell info, which leads to Eileen (Angelica Huston) leaving the project so it can get to Broadway. How do we know this? Because in pure soap opera fashion, Jerry writes a check to Ellis before telling him (over the phone) to never contact him again. In other Smash news, Karen (Katharine McPhee) and Jimmy (Jeremy Jordan) finally kissed, but he was kind of high, so it definitely will not go down as one of TV's best first kisses. Your move, Karen's first kiss with Derek (Jack Davenport). Your move.

Hart of Dixie: We're about to get real ranty up in this column, y'all. The CW charmer also killed a character via character assassination: Wade  (Wilson Bethel). We're sorry, we just don't buy for a second that Wade would cheat on Zoe (Rachel Bilson) and we can't believe the show is just erasing all of the wonderful progress the character has made with this storyline. It's unfair to Bethel, who is effortlessly talented and charming, and downright insulting to the audience. There was no need for forced drama in the relationship and we're pretty sure this cheating storyline backfired in a big way. To borrow a phrase from Vivian Ward: Big mistake. Huge.

Jordin Althaus/FOX

The Mindy Project: Oh, hey Seth Rogen! The Knocked Up star made an appearance as Sam, a childhood crush of Mindy (Mindy Kaling), whom she met at Jewish summer camp. Obviously. Though they shared a pretty perfect day together after reuniting (a screening of You've Got Mail, the superior Hanks-Ryan flick in our opinion, included!), the Fox sitcom found an easy way to have Sam exit as he is a military vet heading back to Afghanistan. Here's hoping the wry guy makes a return appearance in the future, maybe when Mindy and Danny (Chris Messina) finally get together? (Come on, we all know it's going to happen. Even if Danny isn't a Game of Thrones fan.)

New Girl: Cece (Hannah Simone) is engaged! Schmidt (Max Greenfield) is heartbroken! Jess (Zooey Deschanel) can't stop thinking about Nick's (Jake Johnson) mouth! He knows it! New Girl continues to be the most consistently funny sitcom on TV! (But a big ole boo goes to the show's upcoming two-week hiatus. Boo, we say!)

The CW  sets finale dates for The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Arrow and more

Justified: PLL wasn't the only Tuesday night show to feature the death of a major character as FX's hit series killed off Arlo (Raymond J. Barry), Raylan's (Timothy Olyphant) father. Though he hated his father, Raylan can't help but be emotionally affected by his death, which was yet another casualty in his search for Drew Thompson. Arlo's final words for Raylan? "Kiss my ass."

Cult: Fact: Cast a Degrassi alum on your decent (at best) show and we will watch. The long-running Canadian teen drama's Stacey Farber made her debut on the CW's new thriller and it was oh so good to have her back on TV. (Here's hoping some of the the casting directors for the network's new pilots were watching as well.)

Phew, that was an action-packed night of TV! What was your favorite moment of the night? Do you think Pretty Little Liars' really offed Toby? Were you as mad about Hart of Dixie's cheating as we were? Sound off in the comments!
