Supernatural Season 9: Misha Collins Returning as Series Regular

Fan favorite will also direct an episode next season

Castiel fans, the angels have heard your plight and have answered in kind.

Misha Collins will return for Supernatural's ninth season as a full-fledged series regular, E! News has confirmed.

Apparently fans started a campaign to bring the angel back by sending feathers to the Supernatural offices. Collins tweeted today: "I don't think the feathers to the offices campaign was what saved the angel, but it does look like i'm going to be a regular for season 9."

We also hear that he'll be directing an episode of Supernatural next season.

The long-running CW show was recently renewed, along with The Vampire Diaries and freshman series Arrow.
