Getting nominated for an Oscar is no easy task. But for Christoph Waltz, it might even require an injury on-set.

The Best Supporting Actor nominee told Ryan Seacrest about his accident while riding a horse during his work for Django Unchained.

"Well, I fell off," the 56-year-old actor said. "Our stunt coordinator said in a rodeo, it would be an 86.5. I don't know what that means."

Fortunately, the actor recovered quickly and didn't affect production. "It was while I was practicing," Waltz said.

Despite the freak accident, Waltz still feels honored that director Quentin Tarantino wrote a specific part with him in mind. "I'm honored to say yes he did," the actor said. "I'm still trying to really grasp it."
