Barbra Streisand made her return to the Oscars stage with a touching rememberance of a dear friend.

Following the In Memoriam motage, which concluded with composer Marvin Hamlisch, Barbra took to the stage dressed in a black and gold gown with some severe talon nails: "Marvin Hamlisch was a composer of extraordinary depth and versatility," she said. "He was also a very kind and generous friend who could always make me laugh."

She continued, "Over the years, we shared many adventures together. Marvin left us way too soon, but I'll always have those wonderful, wonderful memories." She then launched into "The Way We Were," a song she collaborated on with Hamlisch.
