With Michael Jackson: Immortal World Tour off touring the world, Cirque du Soleil has created a new show about the King of Pop just for Las Vegas.

Michael Jackson ONE starts preview performances May 23 at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and the official opening night is slated for June 29, Cirque CEO Daniel Lamarre announced Thursday.

Like Immortal World Tour, which touches down in Italy this weekend, ONE—which is also being produced in collaboration with Jackson's estate—will feature a broad sampling of the late artist's music and plenty of high-flying Cirque du Soleil spectacle.

ONE will be moving into the theater previously occupied by The Lion King.

"It will be completely different from the Immortal show," director Jamie King told the Las Vegas Sun in August when the show was being developed. "This will be a theater show, not an arena tour production. It will have a completely different feel. Both shows must be different, and they will be. The theater is under construction, and it has much potential. I am excited for the future."

The show's website touts it as "a theatrical evocation of Michael's creative genius. Guided and inspired by his music, four misfits set out on a transformative adventure. By journey's end, they will personify Michael's agility, courage, playfulness and love."

Sounds like a real thriller!
