Russell Brand has a message for One Direction's Harry Styles: Bring it on!

In an online Q&A with fans to hype his upcoming Give It Up for Comic Relief benefit at London's Wembley Arena on March 6, the 37-year-old comedian offered up praise for the English boy band as well as some unsolicited advice for Taylor Swift's ex.

"I think One Direction…seem really, really lovely. I met them at the Olympics and they were, like, really good-looking and charming, and I really liked that one Harry," Brand told Netizens during the chat on Heatworld.com. "I don't think we're competing for the same audience femalewise, so...I think those lads are about 19 and 20 years old now, aren't they? They're quite young."

But after being informed of Styles' penchant for dating older women, the funnyman laid down the law.

"That's not on. There's got to be carefully defined parameters, otherwise there's gonna be an intergenerational sex war," said Brand, adding, "I like the curly hair. I think he has quite nice lips."

Of course, Russell's got his reputation as a comic Casanova to protect, having romanced the likes of Kate Moss and Holly Madison before his short-lived marriage to pop star Katy Perry. Following the London Games, he's since been rumored to have hooked up with Spice Girl member Geri Halliwell.

But despite their rivalry over the ladies, he had nothing but kind words to say about Styles and the rest of One Direction, whom he met backstage at the Olympics.

"They were very, very funny,"said Brand, adding that he hoped they would win a lot of Brit Awards.

One Direction, for the record, won in the new Global Success category for their stellar international album sales and also performed a mashup of post-punk classics "One Way or Another" and "Teenage Kicks," which the boys are releasing as a single to support Brand's Comic Relief initiative.

Anyway, you can watch Russell wax on about Harry in the video below starting around the 10-minute mark.
