The circumstances surrounding Mindy McCready's tragic death on Sunday are still coming to light.

On Wednesday, preliminary autopsy results from the Arkansas Crime Lab confirmed the manner of death for the 37-year-old country star was suicide, from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Cleburne County Sheriff Marty Moss told E! News that McCready did not leave a suicide note and this is still an "ongoing investigation."

Moss would not comment on whether McCready's boyfriend, David Wilson, left a note. He was found dead on Jan. 13 at the home he and McCready shared in Heber Springs, Ark. Although initially presumed to be a suicide, the cause of Wilson's death is still under investigation as well.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with McCready and Wilson's family and friends.
