Conor Kennedy doesn't fall far from the tree.

Along with a group of activists that included his environmentalist dad, Robert Kennedy Jr., and green-scene fixture Daryl Hannah, Taylor Swift's 18-year-old ex-boyfriend was arrested today at a rally organized by the Sierra Club in Washington, D.C.

A number of protesters, including the younger Kennedy, cuffed themselves to the White House front gates to protest the Keystone XL pipeline, which is being built to ferry crude oil from Alberta, Canada, to the Texas Gulf Coast.

Apparently the cops knew they were trouble when they walked in.

Per the New York Times' Green blog, four dozen people were charged with failure to disperse and obey lawful orders and then all were released on a $100 bond apiece.

While Conor may be a newbie on the civil disobedience scene, this certainly wasn't Hannah's first rodeo.

The Splash star was busted in October 2011 protesting the pipeline in Washington, D.C., and then again last October Winnsboro, Texas, when she stood in the way of some heavy machinery that was part of pipeline construction efforts on a private farm.
