As it turns out, Justin Bieber can hold his own when it comes to comedy.

The "Girfriend" crooner performed double duties on this week's Saturday Night Live, proving he could be quite the funnyman when he hosted the show for the first time and served as the late night show's musical guest as well.

Rocking a black blazer and black shirt to kick off the show, the newly single star hit the stage giving the camera a smoldering look, saying, "I'm so excited to be here hosting SNL, especially in February, because February is that special time of year, that romantic time of year, you know, Black History Month."

"It's also Valentine's Day, so we're gonna celebrate both tonight," Bieber went on.

The Biebs, who walked into the audience rattling off faux Black History Month facts (like Denzel Washington invented the peanut) said he was looking for that one special girl that could help him find love and show "the great progress African-Americans have made in the nation."

That turned out to be none other than Whoopi Goldberg, who the "Girlfriend" crooner grabbed from the audience and serenaded with "One Less Lonely Girl."

And then it was time for the show.

While Bieber brought the funny showing off his Valley boy accent in "The Californians," playing a ditzy greaser in 50's Romance, and an abstinence-promoting geek (with a strong lisp) in "Principal Frye:Valentine's Day," there were a few skits in which the superstar singer really shined.

In the "Miley Cyrus Show" sketch, Bieber popped up as the president of Miley Cyrus' fan club, ripping himself, saying "[Justin Bieber] looks like a lesbian" and is a "douche." Oh, and he kinda, sorta "apologized" for that whole pot dealio.

"I also heard [Bieber] got busted for smoking weed and that he's really sorry about it," he told Cyrus (Vanessa Bayer) in a sit down. "People make mistakes."

Then, in another skit, Bieber had a special Valentine's Day message for the ladies, showing off his, um, romantic side.

"Champagne. Check. Roses. Check," Bieber said, while lounging on a red, heart-shaped bed and blowing kisses at the camera.

"Sexy dice," Bieber said before rolling them. "Fondle butt. Rules are rules."

Bieber went on to open his pants and snap a photo, saying, "Check your email, Hillary Clinton."

"Protective Brother" was also one of Bieber's notable sketches, in which he played a pre-med student who goes to his girlfriend (Nasim Pedrad)'s home to meet her family, and gets taunted and patronized by her overprotective brother (Taran Killam). Bieber almost cracked up when Killam kept screaming in his face, teasing him for saying "glice" instead of glad.

The singer went on to perform "As Long as You Love Me" and "Nothing Like Us."

So, tell us, what did you think about Bieber's SNL hosting stint? Did he make you swoon or turn you off?

Sound off in the comments.
