Tuesday night was all about the romance when it came to the small screen.
Nope, New Girl isn't moonwalking itself away from last week's game-changing kiss between Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel). Instead, the Fox sitcom addressed the smooch .GIF'd around Tumblr head-on, leading to some hilariously awkward (and emotional) moments between the will they or won't they pair.
Elsewhere, The Mindy Project's Valentine's Day episode didn't go as planned and three more ladies were sent home on The Bachelor...
Post-Kiss Awkward Bliss: What better way to follow one of TV's best first kisses ever than with an awkward moonwalk out of the conversation?! This is exactly what New Girl did after Nick and Jess' much-talked-about smooch in last week's episode. However, Nick couldn't avoid the conversation forever, as the sitcom did a great job of forcing the duo to spend time together, and the kiss didn't impact their great chemistry in a negative way. In fact, the awkward tension made it even better, with Nick and Jess arguing over who thought the kiss "meant something." (They both did, clearly. She said she "saw through space and time" and he called it "a fairy tale.") In the end, after a breakup (Sam ended things with Jess after learning of the kiss!) and an awkward hug, everything went back to normal. Kind of. But not really.
Two other things: (1) We will really miss Sam (David Walton) and found his excitement over having 10 emails in the morning completely endearing; (2) Cece (Hannah Simone) and Winston's (Lamorne Morris) respective reactions to the kiss? Legit. (And yes, guys really do hit each other's balls. A lot. Our high school friends called it "sac-tapping" and one of them had to go to the hospital after being hit so hard he went through a window. We repeat: Sac-tapped through a window. Cool story, we know, but we digress!)
New Girl Line of the Night: This is tough, as this episode was filled with great one-liners, but we're partial to Nick's "I'm a man, Jessica. Pink robes are like my catnip!" and Jess' postsplit wish: "I just wanted to listen to Taylor Swift alone." Preach, sister-friend. Preach. (But we did get to see Nick dance to Swift's "22" in an attempt to cheer Jess up. Your move, rest of the world's male population.)

Valentine's Day Mayhem: Are you watching The Mindy Project? Why aren't you watching The Mindy Project? I love how it simultaneously embraces and rips on rom-com clichés, like the Empire State Building being the most romantic place in the world. (Oh hey, Common, as the head of security!) And I think watching B.J. Novak's Jamie attempt to give himself the Heimlich on a parking meter may be one of my favorite sight gags of the TV season. But, of course, Mindy (Mindy Kaling) and Danny's (Chris Messina) relationship needs to be discussed. He's not exactly her Harry, but he is the closest thing she's got to one and I can't decide if I want to see them get together or not. Which is a good thing because it means their current dynamic is working. (And I do love that Danny, despite his protestations, is a romantic at heart.)
Oh, and is anyone else convinced the series (may it live for at least six seasons) end with Mindy finally making it to the top of the Empire State Building?
Non-New Girl Line of the Night: "To kiss someone on national television is a huge shame to my family. Mama, please forgive me. It was necessary. I had to bring out the big guns tonight," Selma said after finally kissing Sean Lowe on The Bachelor.
Kissed and Dismissed: Alas, the big guns couldn't get the job done as Sean sent Selma packing later in the episode. Denied! Also sent packing? Daniella and Sarah M. Yes, Tierra the Terrible is still in it to win it, despite almost freezing to death. No, not from all the frosty glares the other girls are sending her way. Read our recap to find out what went down.
