The Following First Look: Watch the Making of Next Week's Gruesome Fire Stunt

THE FOLLOWING David Giesbrecth/FOX

At the end of last Monday's episode of The Following, we saw a demented pupil of Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) clad in an Edgar Allan Poe mask set a man on fire. But it wasn't a random killing. And the mechanics behind the human fireball stunt? Not an easy task to pull off.

In next week's episode, aptly titled "The Poets Fire," viewers will get the backstory behind the gruesome public murder, and we have an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the filming of the fire stunt. Check out how the stunt coordinator and stuntman pulled off the brutal scene below!

The Following airs Monday nights on Fox.
