After the 48-year-old actor retweeted a post from a fan showing a side-by-side comparison of the star's Les Mis getup and the former X Factor judge's sexy "Toxic" ensemble from her 2004 music video, the photo split has now caught the attention of the pop princess herself.
Cue the most adorable Twitter exchange we've seen in 2013.
"@britneyspears Hello young lady. Such a lovely colour on you," the Academy Award-winner actor teasingly tweeted.
To which the pop star replied:
"LOL. Cute hat @RussellCrowe. You wear it well. Maybe we should perform a Toxic/Work Song mashup ;)," she playfully wrote back.
Not sure how that would sound, but we're not going to lie, we'd definitely give it a listen.
