James Franco can't get enough sex.

The 127 Hours actor promoted not one, not two, but three sex-filled projects at this year's Sundance Film Festival.

First up was Interior. Leather Bar., a 60-minute film he codirected and appears in about his quest to recreate 40 minutes of sexually graphic material that was cut from Al Pacino's 1980 film Cruising—the controversial thriller is about a serial killer targeting victims in gay S&M leather bars.

Then there's Lovelace, a biopic about the late porn star Linda Lovelace (Amanda Seyfried) in which he plays Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner.

The cherry on top of it all was a midnight premiere of Kink, a documentary Franco produced about a leading hardcore BDSM porn website.

So what's up with Mr. Franco's fascination with sex?

"That's a big question, but I guess, generally speaking, I'm very interested in the way we interact with each other, the way that we define ourselves, the way sex and sexuality both define who we are and don't define who we are," he told me during an interview with his Interior. Leather Bar. codirector Travis Mathews. "I've found that it's sort of a topic of endless exploration."

Especially at Sundance.

Among the sexually-charged offerings was Naomi Watts and Robin Wright in Two Mothers as two best friends who fall for each other's teenage sons.

In the very creepy Stoker, Nicole Kidman is a widow falling for her dead husband's mysterious brother Charlie (Matthew Goode) who is also wooing her daughter (Mia Wasikowska). Yes, that would be his niece.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt wrote, directed and stars in Don Jon's Addiction as a young man obsessed with porn.

Kill Your Darlings isn't only getting great reviews, but there's been a lot of chatter about star Daniel Radcliffe's man-on-man and self-loving scenes. Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen are besties determined to lose their virginity in Very Good Girls.

"As an artist, there's just always more to explore and create," Franco said. "And fortunately, [sex] still has this strange power and danger, where it's on most people's minds. Even if it's not on your mind, you're making a very conscious choice to keep it off your mind."
