Drew Barrymore's wild days may be behind her, but she knows full well that her newborn daughter, Olive, will undoubtedly read all about it someday.

Fortunately, she's already got a plan of attack in the works.

"I will absolutely instill in her that you cannot be ashamed of the journey that it took to get where you are if you are proud of yourself," the actress tells Oprah Winfrey in Sunday's episode of Oprah's Next Chapter. "But I will also try and instill in her that I did not have guidance and that is why I lived my life that way."

But Barrymore is quick to emphasize, "There is no option for her to take that path, because she has guidance."

The 37-year-old star also chats about her wedding last year to Will Kopelman and reveals how the couple made the tough choice not to invite Barrymore's mother.

"She was not there, which was really hard. Really, really hard," says Barrymore. "We both discussed it, and we just thought it would be best."

The full interview airs this Sunday, Jan. 20, on OWN.
