There's something about Emma Stone and the Oscars that generally makes for good water-cooler fodder.

On the heels of her semi-controversial Oscar nominations announcement with Seth McFarlane, the Help star is dishing on her hot new role in Gangster Squad and whether she really was drunk during last year's Academy Awards.

Emma Stone topped our list for the 10 best dressed stars ever at the Golden Globes!

Dubbed as "Hollywood's Reigning Golden Girl" in W Magazine's February issue, Stone and Ben Stiller made quite the memorable duo when they presented an award together at the Oscars, leading some to believe she was a little intoxicated on stage, according to the star.

"A lot of people thought it was something else: When I came offstage, they were saying, ‘You were so drunk!' And I wasn't. Not until after," Stone quipped to the mag's editor-at-large Lynn Hirschberg.

Stone, who plays Grace Faraday in the upcoming Gangster Squad, also talked about dealing with the "pretty demanding" undergarments she had to wear while starring in the crime drama as a glamorous aspiring star in the 1940's who falls in love with a gangster.

Five things to know about Gangster Squad

When asked if it was difficult to be so perfectly coifed all the time during production, Stone said, "It's time-consuming to put on a bustier and a little corset every day. But you're immediately more poised than you would be in modern-day clothes. And it makes it easy to get into character."

And speaking of films, the actress revealed the one flick that makes her tear up.

"The end of City Lights makes me cry every time I see it—when Charlie Chaplin walks by the shop window and the once blind girl brings him a flower and pins it to his lapel," Stone said. "She's always thought that he was a millionaire, but he was really a tramp. She feels his hand and says, ‘You?' And he nods. He says, ‘You can see now?' And she says, ‘Yes, I can see now.' They cut back to his face, and he lights up like you've never seen. That last line—‘Yes, I can see now'—has so many meanings. It's echoed in every great romantic movie since then and in every great moment of life."

Stone is one of 32 actors featured in the mag's "'Best Performances" issue, shot by celebrity photographer Juergen Teller.
