Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman were the opposite of their downtrodden French screen selves as they celebrated their and Les Misérables' big wins backstage at the 70th Annual Golden Globes

"It's so encouraging," Hathaway said Sunday, clutching her statuette. "It just makes me feel me very lucky. I'd be doing this even if people weren't watching."

Jackman described the feeling of claiming his first-ever Globe as "unforgettable."

"I thank my lucky stars everyday that I got this role," he said.

Hathaway and Jackman are both nominated for Academy Awards. Les Mis is up for Best Picture.

Hathaway dismissed criticism, in the nicest way possible, that the film's vocal performances, recorded live on the set, were not up to musical snuff. "Every single person…gave every last bit of themselves…," she said, "and did the best they can."
