Anmer Hall—located two miles from Queen Elizabeth II's Sandringham Estate in Norfolk—is rumored to be the expectant parents' future residence after royal officials applied to make changes to the Georgian-style country home and the surrounding land. A decision on the plans is reportedly expected in March.
Will and Kate currently reside in Anglesey, Wales, but reports suggest the 10-bedroom grade II listed property will likely be used as a country retreat for the couple, who will soon be settling down to raise their first child and heir to the throne.
According to the BBC, the property has been part of the royal estate since 1898 and was home to the Duke and Duchess of Kent between 1972 and 1990.
After the Duchess of Cambrige's infamous topless photo scandal, it should come as no surprise the pair want to raise their family in privacy.
And the tiny village of Anmer is the perfect place to do so—with no pub, no shop and a population of 63 people—although Kensington Palace will reportedly be the couple's main residence.
The Anmer Hall reports fall on the heels of tabloid speculation that Prince William was purchasing a house for his wife for her 31st birthday.
Neither the royal rep nor Buckingham Palace would comment on Anmer Hall speculation.
