The onetime MTV hostess, fresh from a break-up with Svengali/manager/fiancé Ray Manzella, says she's engaged again.
This time it's to film director John Asher. He's 28 and she's 26. (Manzella, who reportedly still reps McCarthy despite their split, is 50.)
McCarthy made the announcement Wednesday to a British TV audience. Once one of the most, uh, overexposed women in the U.S., she has been seen less and less on these shores since NBC canned her sitcom. She's currently in the U.K. doing a fill-in cohost gig for a morning show called The Big Breakfast.
McCarthy met Asher during filming of Miramax's Diamonds. He's the director, and she's the starlet in the mystery about an ex-prizefighter who embarks on a journey to find 13 missing diamonds. (As if McCarthy's name isn't enough to fill the marquee, Kirk Douglas, Lauren Bacall and Dan Aykroyd are also in the film.)
No wedding date has been announced.
