R. Kelly is hoping the power of music can help those affected by the Sandy Hook school shooting in Newtown, Conn.

The sometimes-controversial R&B singer has just released a song honoring the victims of last month's horrific massacre, which left 20 students and six educators among the dead.

The ballad "I Know You Are Hurting" features the voices of a children's choir singing, "I know you're hurting, I hear you crying, but come tomorrow, there's a place you can go."

The lyrics continue, "Find the blue skies, hear the choir sing, feel the power of a miracle healing both you and me."

The song's proceeds will be donated to help families of the victims.
