We recently had the opportunity to catch up with The Walking Dead star Lauren Cohan, and knew she was the perfect person to inspire us to get in shape.

Thanks to her role on the hit show, the actress is an expert at maintaining her strong yet svelte figure under pressure. Here's what she told us:

1. Make fitness fun. "I love boxing and I love dancing. Find a routine that involves music so you forget that it's actually exercise," she says.

2. Pick a role model. Fitness unites Cohan and her castmates. "We all battle back and forth, like who's better, Jillian Michaels or Tracy Anderson? But I think I've got Emily and Laurie on Team Anderson, which is fun."

3. Fuel your body. "I try to be gluten-free and I eat plenty of fruits and vegetables for energy. Eating junk makes me tired and I don't have time to be tired! At this point, my body just tells me what I want and what I need."

And there you have it! Follow Cohan's advice and you'll look better than ever in 2013!
