It's not enough to hope and pray for an end to gun violence—we need to demand a plan.

A slew of Hollywood stars including Reese Witherspoon, Will Ferrell, Jon Hamm and more are asking you to do just that in a moving new PSA for the "Demand a Plan to End Gun Violence" campaign.

The heartfelt clip features Jon Hamm, Steve Carell, Jamie Foxx, Paul Rudd, Jason Bateman, Sarah Silverman, Amy Poehler, Aubrey Plaza, Amanda Peet, Busy Philipps, Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally, Adam Scott, Cameron Diaz, Courteney Cox, Christina Applegate, Zooey Deschanel, John Slattery, Debra Messing, Elizabeth Banks, Max Greenfield, Kristen Bell, Peter Dinklage, Brooke Shields, Joel McHale, Conan O'Brien, Rashida Jones, Will Ferrell, Aziz Ansari, Olivia Munn, Julianne Moore, Jeremy Renner, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, Chris Rock, Ellen DeGeneres, Selena Gomez, Kate Hudson and Gwyneth Paltrow. In a united message, the stars recount our nation's horrors—from Columbine to Virginia Tech to Aurora—and point out the need to request new legislation be passed to protect us all.

Demand a Plan is a grassroots campaign partnered with the Mayors Against Illegal Guns. It seeks to "prevent future tragedies by passing common sense legislation" to require a criminal background check for all guns sold in America, ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and make gun trafficking a federal crime.
