Something wicked this way comes to Once Upon a Time!

Rose McGowan, who starred on the WB's beloved witch drama Charmed, is set to guest star on the ABC hit fantasy series in a juicy role that should make fans very excited.

McGowan will play a younger version of Cora (Barbara Hershey) in an episode exploring Regina's (Lana Parrilla) evil mother's backstory.

"So thrilled to have @Rosemcgowan joining us on #OnceUponATime," the show's cocreator Adam Horowitz tweeted. "Welcome Rose! So grateful you agreed to come aboard."

After playing Paige Matthews on Charmed for five years, McGowan has starred in films such as Conan, Grindhouse and Deathproof. Once Upon a Time won't be McGowan's first TV gig since Charmed; she previously guested on Law & Order: SVU and Nip/Tuck and also starred in Lifetime's The Pastor's Wife

Deadline first reported the news of McGowan's casting.

Are you excited to learn Cora's backstory? Do you think McGowan is the perfect choice to play a young Hershey? Sound off in the comments!
