Ariel Winter's family issues seem to be improving.

The Modern Family star will remain under her sister Shanelle Gray's temporary guardianship, an L.A. judge said Wednesday at the 14-year-old actress's guardianship hearing.

Ariel's father, Glenn Workman, was appointed the temporary guardian of Ariel's estate. When Judge Michael Levanas said this, Ariel looked back and smiled at her dad. Glenn and Ariel's mother, Chrisoula Workman, hugged.

The judge thanked the family for their hard work in trying to resolve a difficult family situation.

There will be a status conference on Ariel's guardianship situation on March 29, 2013.

Ariel's brother, Jimmy Workman, told E! News outside the courtroom the family is going to therapy and will hopefully "get back" to where they should be.

Jimmy said he hasn't spoken to Ariel or Shanelle since the custody issues began, but he would like to get a message to his sister that, "I love her and I want to see her again."
