Carey Mulligan isn't just spreading Christmas cheer; she's also using her celebrity status to raise awareness.

The 27-year-old British beauty and Prime Minister David Cameron met at Downing Street in London this morning to launch the Christmas to Remember holiday campaign with the Alzheimer's Society in an effort to raise awareness about the widespread mental condition.

As part of the campaign, Mulligan, Cameron and other celebrities will share their favorite Christmas memories on a Tumblr blog. The cause hits close to home for Carey, as her beloved grandmother suffered from the disease, and Mulligan shares her favorite holiday memory at her grandma's home.

The Great Gatsby actress encourages others to get involved with the Christmas campaign by writing a holiday memory on a piece of paper, taking a photo and tweeting it using #xmas2remember or comment at facebook.com/alzheimerssociety.
