A veteran session guitarist whose licks enlivened cuts from the likes of Linda Ronstadt to the Rolling Stones has been busted on child pornography charges in Los Angeles.

Robert "Waddy" Wachtel, 52, was arrested Thursday at his Los Angeles home, police said. His wife, Annie, 55, also was taken into custody.

Authorities allege they found child pornography on a computer at the Wachtel residence. They also found printed-out copies of downloadable kiddie porn, says Detective Bill Dworin of the L.A. Police Department's juvenile sex crimes unit.

Among Wachtel's recent credits: the Stones' 1997 album, Bridges to Babylon. The longtime Keith Richards crony coproduced the star's 1988 solo effort, Talk Is Cheap.

Wachtel was booked for possession of child pornography and duplications; his wife, for possession of child pornography alone, Dworin says. Such charges are considered misdemeanors for first-time offenders.

Additionally, the guitarist is facing a drug possession charge, Dworin says. Police allegedly found cocaine during a raid on the Wachtel house last month.

It was during that June sweep that police, responding to a tip, found the kiddie porn, Dworin says.

At the time, Wachtel was taken into custody for the drug charge; he was not booked on the child pornography accusations until Thursday, when cops wrapped their investigation.

"I haven't done anything," Annie Wachtel said Thursday, as police led her away in handcuffs, according to Associated Press.

The Wachtels each posted $10,000 bail and were released from custody following their arrests.

Arraignment was said to be scheduled for later this month.
