Amy Winehouse's Father Pulls Plug on Play About Singer, Nicki Minaj Blasts Steven Tyler and Other Must-Read News

Amy Winehouse's father wants his daughter's memory to live on—just not in a play about her life.

Mitch Winehouse has put the kibosh on a planned stage show about the late singer after refusing to grant its producers permission to use any of Amy's songs.

Per the Los Angeles Times, the play, titled Amy, was being mounted by Copenhagen's Royal Danish Theatre and was set to begin performances on Jan. 30. That's now gone by the wayside, as Mitch has also banned the show from using any photos of the chanteuse, who died on July 23, 2011, of alcohol poisoning.

That doesn't mean Mitch isn't eager to see his daughter's story told—or to see himself in it: He recently revealed that he'd love for George Clooney to play him in an Amy Winehouse biopic.
